A local event.
A global audience.
One of the biggest music festivals in the world opened its stages to the whole planet. No sign-up, no paywall, no geo-blocking. In 28 days, people watched from 95 countries.

A copyright rule shaped the whole project.
The concert recordings belong to the artists and live on their channels. That rule set the architecture: the streams had to run through the YouTube player, without the festival experience being taken over by YouTube's interface. And it had to work for anyone arriving on a phone in the middle of a show.
